Join Us This Sunday

What Should I Expect?

Our Sunday mornings begin …

with members of our church family arriving around 9 am to open up our church home and prepare our space for worship.  If we are serving communion, you’ll find a group of elders and deacons setting out cups and plates in our sanctuary.  Our choir begins to gather around 9:40 am – preparing their hearts and voices to praise God and usher us into the holy.

We worship our Lord Jesus Christ at 10:30 am …

Our life together is all about community, so often we begin with announcements about things going on in our church family and upcoming events.  Then, we worship.  We prepare our hearts and minds as the prelude is played.  We are a liturgical church, which means when you join us, you will find we will sit and stand, speak prayers together, hear Scripture.  Some of us will wear button-downs and dress pants.  But, we are also a relevant and welcoming church.  You will find us shaking hands and saying hello.  You will find us wearing jeans and t-shirts.  You are welcome to come just as you are.

Nursery care & children’s ministry …

By 10:00 am, our nursery care person will be here for you and your children in the north end of our building.  If you want to keep your infant or kids with you in worship, that’s great too.  We aim to be a welcoming family of believers, and that includes our children.  Our kids are always invited to go back to our Sunday School with Mrs. Betsy and Mrs. Lisa after the children’s sermon.

After the service …

we continue to catch up in our sanctuary while some gather on the south end of our building or out in our entryway for coffee and conversation.  If you’ve dropped your child off in our nursery, you can go on back right after the service and connect with your child there.

Into the world …

Sunday morning is just the start for us.  We want to be a church that goes out to LOVE like Jesus, LIVE like Jesus, and SERVE like Jesus.  I hope you’ll join us.  Our world needs this kind of love right now, and you have a vital role to play in the healing of Greencastle, Putnam County and beyond.
