Join Us This Sunday

What Should I Expect?

Our Sunday mornings begin …

Around 10 am on Sunday mornings.  But, if you’re a morning person and want to grow in your faith, you can always join us for our Adult Sunday School class at 9 am in the church living room.  Right now, we are watching a series of videos about the Holy Land as we prepare for a trip to Israel in the fall of 2023.

By 10:15 am, there are plenty of folks here, although many show up right at 10:30 or a few minutes past for Sunday morning worship.

If singing is your thing, our choir begins to gather around 9:15 am throughout the year- preparing their hearts and voices to praise God and usher us into the holy.  Please email Laura Brumbaugh, our music director, for more information on our choir.

We worship our Lord Jesus Christ at 10:30 am …

Our life together is all about community, so often we begin with announcements about things going on in our church family and upcoming events.  Then, we worship.  We prepare our hearts and minds as the prelude is played.  We are a liturgical church, which means when you join us, you will find we will sit and stand, speak prayers together, hear Scripture.  Some of us will wear dress shirts and khakis.  Others will wear blue jeans and t-shirts.  Either way, we want to be a relevant and welcoming church.  You will find us shaking hands and saying hello.  And we just invite you to come as you are and enjoy both connecting with God and with others.

Nursery care & children’s ministry …

By 10:20 am, our nursery care person (Caroline Gooch) will be here for you and your children in the north end of our building (room #2).  If you want to keep your infant or kids with you in worship, that’s great too.  When we say we are a “family of believers” part of what we are celebrating is multi-generational worship.

As we continue to be blessed with more families coming back to church, we’ll also let everyone know if/when Sunday School is starting again for our elementary aged children.

After the service …

We continue to catch up in our sanctuary while some gather on the south end of our building or out in our entryway for coffee and conversation.  If you’ve dropped your child off in our nursery, you can go on back right after the service and connect with your child there.

Into the world …

Sunday morning is just the start for us.  We want to be a church that goes out to LOVE like Jesus, LIVE like Jesus, and SERVE like Jesus.  I hope you’ll join us.  Our world needs this kind of love right now, and you have a vital role to play in the healing of Greencastle, Putnam County and beyond.
